Default Med egg table help

Gonna start on the transformation of the kitchen island into an egg table. I know a couple of guys here have med eggs in tables. What size hole did ya'll go with and how much space from the support shelf to the work surface? My surface is a 2in butcher block.

If you don't get the answers remember to allow for hinge actuation.

According to the BGE site, you need an 18" hole and 15" from base to deck. For the base to deck measurement, open your Egg and measure the distance from ground to the bottom of the hinge. That gives you your max threshold. I fear that these plans from BGE were made before the spring assist.
