I am going to experiment with putting some Jack Daniel's in a bbq sauce. If the total amount of sauce in the recipe is 40 oz what portion of that should be a starting point for adding whiskey? I was thinking of starting with a half of a cup, figured some of you might have a better idea.

In my Jack & Coke sauce, the ratio is 1/6 Jack to 5/6 of the rest of the liquid ingredients. Everyone loves the sauce, but it might be partly that they just love the idea of Jack & Coke...

I've done the 4 to 1 ration before w/Sweet Baby Rays and it came out great. I use Makers though. I use it to baste the ribs last hour before pulling of the smoker. You also need another 1/2-3/4 cups of Makers every hour during the first 4 hours of smoking, taken in a glass over a few ice cubes.
