Hey how come you got a coupon? I didn't.

Sounds like you got the same "avid charcoal user" to respond as I did. Anyone else smell form letter?

I got the similar response as the others from Pattie Cooper, except she stated she cooks her pork roasts low and slow.

HeY Lady!! In the BBQ world it's called a BUTT!!!!

IMO Sam's or Walmart charcoal is not a good substitute. I'm lucky in the fact I can get IGAs Best Choice brand here in Missouri. It's not Kingsford, but it's better than Walmart!

Of course they're an avid charcoal user. Owning a gas grill is probably taboo for their employees!

Besides, who do you think will get all the original stuff that gets sent back?

It looks like the 20 LB bag will now be 18 LBs. That alone increases profits by 10%. Plus the fact that that it burns faster and will cost more seems like a nice tidy 25% higher profit. Goodbye Kingsford. I will email them again and let them know we are not idiots and they have lost customers. In the tradition of the great American Corporation........they will ignore what I have to say.

I am using the new stuff tonight. It seems to be working ok. For my average cook, I use 3/4 of a 20# bag, yes about 15#, I am on pace for that, maybe a little more. It does seem to burn a little hotter, but remember, I have only been using charcoal and wood for about 2 months now.

I am sure it is just me gaining experience, but I have had less problems maintaining temps this time.

My HD sold out of the old K and replaced with the new one.I have used it three times and find i'm using 1/3 more.I e-mailed them and told them it sucks. Their response was that they cook with it also and believe it's just as good as the old K. I included my team name and this web site,i hope they check us out and read this thread.

I'm assuming that the pit is already seasoned so u don't need to waste wood or coal to do that. If I owned a Klose it would see lump and wood 99.9% of the time. I just can't see cooking with charcoal on that pit. Save your money for the wood I say.
