Default Cleaning Your Smoker / Grill

How do you do yours?

I load both the Excel 20 Smoker and the Brinkmann Grill with about 10kgs of charcoal, some wood chunks, let 'em burn right up, leave 'em to go cold and give them a good brush out.

Just before the next cook I coat them with lard and fire 'em up again.

Dunno if it's right, wrong or indifferent, but, it works for me.

Use the Weed burner.. in my 250 Gallon offset... Just wire brush the fire out of it above the grates.. in the bottom below the grates i leave and maybe do it 4 times a year.. and hit it the same..

I wipe the inside down with white vinegar after every cook and make sure to get all the ash out before I put the cooker away. The idea of smoking with sugar mold near is a bit much for me. After a 10 hour cook the last thing on Earth I want to do is spend an hour getting even grimier by giving the smoker a light bath but you gotta do what you gotta do. Maybe this year I'll just smoke more often and clean less...
