Default Mac and Cheese prices

I was asked to cater a party for up to 200. 1 meat and 2 sides. They want me to make our mac and cheese but I've never done this for a crowd, however, I would love to add it to our menu.
Just wonder whats a good price per pound of mac and cheese?

Thanks for your help.

We charge $1.50 per side per person but due to the amount of mac and cheese people eat we have to bring so much extra that we charge $3 for mac and cheese and we find that people eat about 6oz per person and have done events they ate 8oz per person average. I have never priced it by the Lb.

Mac-n-cheese is one of those sides I think you need to calculate the cost on, as it costs more than something like slaw or beans.

HBMTN has it nailed though, you need twice as much, as it is also one of those sides people gorge on and will ding your reputation for being light with.

Is this self-serve or are you serving (i.e. portion controlling)?

If you are serving then $1.50 per 6 oz serving is reasonable (considering your cost of goods will support this price). Calculate your total cost of ingredients per serving and multiply by 3 to see if you hit the $1.50/serving price. If this cost is below $0.50 per 6 oz serving then you should be okay.

If it is self-serve then absolutely follow HBMTN & landarc's direction. They will gorge on Mac & Cheese (I will admit that I do )
