Nice......

Was there any pre-cooking on the bacon?

Clue me to the Asian glaze for the salmon, I have a steelhead in the fridge for tomorrow and have been leaning toward an Asian pesto, but I'm open to ideers.

Clue me to the Asian glaze for the salmon, I have a steelhead in the fridge for tomorrow and have been leaning toward an Asian pesto, but I'm open to ideers.

Ingredients:
  • 2 lbs (1 kg) skinless salmon fillet
  • 1 14oz (400 ml) pineapple tidbits
  • 1 tbs (15 ml) butter
  • 1 tbs (15 ml) light brown sugar
  • ½ tsp (2 ml) olive oil
  • ¾ cup (175 ml) teriyaki sauce
  • 1 large clove garlic
  • 1½ tsp (7 ml) sesame seeds
  • Fresh ground pepper
Directions:
  • Sauté chopped garlic and sesame seeds in olive oil on medium heat
  • Add teriyaki sauce, and fresh ground pepper to taste and simmer for five minutes
  • Let mixture cool
  • Marinate salmon with half of the mixture for two hours then discard the marinade
  • Melt butter and mix in pineapple and brown sugar
  • Dry plank and slowly pour mixture on the plank
  • Arrange a bed of pineapple on the plank for the salmon
  • Place the salmon on the pineapple bed
  • Place plank on grill and cook until flaky

Very, very nice. Thanks for the salmon recipe, and was there any pre-cooking on bacon? I was just talking about doing some of these earlier today and that was the big question as it seems the bacon would cook much slower than the scallops...
