Default Greetings and Thank you for the welcome!

Hello all, I'm Nick from Huntsville, AL. As for smoking, I'm totally new. As for eating, I travel a lot and have considered myself a connoisseur of finely smoked meats. I finally purchased a Smoke Hollow PS9900, and am in the process of building and adding mods. I understand there are can be some rust issues with the PS9900, so I'm painting with high heat rust-oleum. Should I paint inside and out? Or just outside? Thanks for the guideance and I look forward to learning from you all.

Welcome to the forum Nick from sunny SE Arizona, no paint on the inside don't want potentially toxic fumes flavoring your Que.

Welcome from SC, Nick. It's good to have you on this great site. No need to paint the inside of your cooker. It should be seasoned before using. There are several really good instructional posts or videos on seasoning that you can find here. Your seasoning process will give you an opportunity to play with your fire and experiment with heat and fire management.

Good luck and good smoking.

Welcome aboard Nick, glad to have you as a fellow Brethren here.

Looks like Bill has answered your question, so I'll continue with the welcome.

I hope to see you in the Q-Talk forum soon. You'll find help on almost every topic from cooking your first Pork Butt to curing and smoking your own ham and bacon.

If you can't find the topic you need help with, or have questions about, just start a new thread in "Q-Talk". There are many people with years of experience that are willing to answer your questions and guide you in the right direction.
