Question on prize money posted on KCBS site
I thought that the KCBS was posting prize money only if it was for sure or in escrow. But Elk Grove posts $15,000 on the KCBS site and on their website it says $15,000 if full sponsorship but what I just got from the organizer says $11,400.
I'd love to hear from a BOD member on what the policy for the KCBS.US website is. For the record I am going to Ft Atkinson WI that weekend but just in case I was checking out Elk Grove. I'd be a little upset if I thought it was $15,000 and it's only $11,400.

I agree. I think I had read somewhere, that some organizers include prize money and prizes as a lump amount. That is very misleading. I think they should be made to only list the cash money prizes, and not include any amounts for the prizes that they give away. It is very misleading....
Especially if they list say for an example: Grand Champion is $5000. They get a check for $3000 and a radio, a pen set, and some gift certificates valued at the other $2000..... now that would make me upset..... If cash is only $3000, then say so, not the $5000..... Just my $0.02 worth.... I will go to my room now.

The amount posted is to be according to the guranteed prize letter submitted to KCBS. KCBS will enforce that posting. The amount should posted should be the amount advertised or by the letter, which ever is greater. I will check with the office an report back.

A funny thing happened last night. Glascow called me to apologize for what they put as total pay out last year. I cooked the event and had no problmes with the pay out - but I repected them for making a person call - that is class.

I know I will be going and trying to get me some of that $$!!!
Even if Billy is doing it, you can't compare a sanctioned contest to an unsanctioned contest... Scottie Quote:
