Default It's All In The Packaging....

So the spicewine is on order and this year I'd like to be able to take her to different places a lot easier than on a utility trailer. The custom beauty of Jay's is out of the question per the CSDO(chief-smack-down-officer) so I was going to resign myself to renting an enclosed trailer when I needed it.

Then saw someone's post about trailers and read HoDeHo's about the toy hauler option.....

Wife likes to hang out and have fun and go on trips, etc. We can't fly because of the food allergy nut thing, airplanes, and ventilation so we are trying to figure out ways to drive without spending an arm and a leg on everything we do.

So I suggest a trailer/sleeper cabin that can haul the smoker and be pulled by my F150. She smiles. Ok, how much we talking, and when are we talking?
I throw some numbers of our limits and mention later this spring or this summer since we're going to North Dakota.... Toss in the idea of the tax filing....

What do you know, we have terms. Now I just have to find one in the range. Competition here we come.

So any pointers you guys have on these would be awesome.

The first thing I pointed out was that with the LLC and a little repainting we have a tax deductable family travel vehicle.

Check this out. It's an 18' toy hauler with a pop-out front like a pop-up camper. I was considering it, but it might be a bit tight for a family of four (especially with a teenage daughter who NEEDS her own space). I bet an F150 would tow it no problem. Put your new Spicewine in the back and you're ready to go.

That's when you get her a 2 man popup. Then she's even got her own room. I've seen one's similar to that one. Sending email for more pics. Thanks

Yeap, check out all the RV dealerships for used ones. I've noticed some of the lots have them on consignment with the current owner.

I've been looking at the toy haulers lately as well, The one I really like I seen it on ebay, its the 18' Coachman Blast. I think the dry weight was 3300 pounds, Could be easily towed behind a F-150. Once I started looking at them, I can't wait to get the cash to get one. The options are endless on them, and it would be so nice at comps. Or even doing the all night hog roast for someone, check out ebay motors,, lots of 2007 leftovers going at good prices.

We went to the RV show this past weekend in Ft Worth, There were a few that were priced right and probably what you might find in your range. The smaller ones did have a 1000lb cargo space limit though.

I eneded up talking to a guy there that does custom welding and I am going to have a diamond plate rack with ramps attached to the back of my travel trailer. This will work for me with the Stumps smoker. At $600 it is cheaper than trading in and taking a beating on my RV. With gas prices going up, it will be cheaper than my wife hauling the flatbed trailer and me with the travel trailer. Plus I sort of like her company

Bob -

Two things: first, gotta get your CSDO to call mine and work on her . Second - the LLC you mentioned - is that for catering by chance?

Bob,

PM Ted of Qhaven (tedlor70). He has a beautiful little Toy Hauler he uses to go to contests. I think we paid maybe $12000 to $14000.

Here is a picture of the trailer: http://www.2fatpolocksbbq.com/gallery/index.php?directory=/albums/Battle%20of%20BBQ%20Brethren%2010-2007&image=P1010014.JPG&id=13

Bubba, if you bought that, it would make the wife happy, as that she sells parts to Forest River. It's a viscious circle.
