Memphis in May notifications

A friend of mine from out of the country has submitted for entry in next years MIM contest. Do any of you know how long it usually takes to find out if you've been chosen?

Another question: He has chosen to compete in the rib category. How many racks do you believe he should cook? This is obviously his first MBN/MIM experience, so any help you can provide would be helpful.
