If something happens to one of the probes, is that sold on EBAY too or is it sold direct?

I believe the price for the golden tiger is $188. My better supported/ quality and better documented BBQ Guru was close to $300 and less features. The Golden was $99 promotional and a lot more frustrating but rewarding and feature rich. I use them both for different things.

Excellent. Thanks!

The probe can be over burnt due to careless operation when in MANUAL MODEL.
Price of extra probe is US$10
Or the wires(s) of probe can be broken, but easy to fix by your self.
If it is bad quality, the seller will supply you a free probe

Anything can be had direct in my experience and is an easier transaction imho. The eBay page is more of a storefront from what I can tell.

Also If I am not mistaken the probes are simply K type thermocouples that are easy and cheap to find.

Original probe is US$10.
Differences with Amazon's $5 are
1. three wires vs 2 wires
2. 1.5 meter or 5 feet length against 1 meter or 3 feet
3. one more armoured layer

If the manual had pictures or English definitions that would interpret the buttons on the remote. Some of the buttons only have Chinese lettering on them. I think this would help.

Once you get the basics down the manual begins to make more sense. it is a learning curve but it pays off. username: thegizzard was working on rewriting a manual for us guys here in the states. Not sure where hes at with that. The Chinese writing is on my remote too. However the English over it is whats pertinent. Can be confusing during quick reference.
