Default Q in Charlotte NC Area?

Heading North from Orlando and moving through Charlotte. Stopped at a place called Bubbas in Charlotte on my way down. Looking for something better on my way home. Any suggestions along I77 either for Charlotte or Columbia.

In Charlotte, try Mac's Speed Shop, good place for BBQ! Has a couple locations.

Check out this North Carolina BBQ Trail map. A couple places near where you are going and maybe some in route.

The BBQ @ Mac's at the Cornelius location at exit 28 off I-77 was not so great.... fun place though. Biker theme.

You can also go to Lancaster's BBQ in Mooresville at exit 36 off I-77 if you want to also get a NASCAR vibe.

Carolina Bar-B-Q in Statesville is right off I-77 at Exit 49 or 50.

I do want to try Midwood Smokehouse in Charlotte...

Checkout http://www.truecue.org/true-cue-nc/ if you only want to visit places that use wood fire. Really not many in the Charlotte area that qualify unless you venture to the outlying cities (Midwood and Carolina noted above are on the list).

I always make Lancaster's a stop when I'm in the area.
