Default Breaking in the new Cast Iron

Picked up this beauty--- block Griswold #8 with self basting lid. She came already seasoned but I cleaned and reseasoned myself. Decided to pan fry some chicken tenders. Dredge was flour, S&P, and magic dust. Coated in egg, dredge, egg, and dredge again. Came out great! Ate with ketchup/habanero sauce mix.

Pics of CI and cook:

She's a beauty! The chicken looks great too! My favorite pan to cook in is my gris 12, but it's a small stamp

eBay my friend :D

I have found some other awesome griswold pieces at antique stores and estate sales though. If you don't mind completely cleaning and reseasoning you can get em fairly cheap considering with proper care they will outlive any of us lol.

Love that pan! Bird looks good too!

My mom gave me a very old Wagner #8 as a Christmas gift today. Needs to be cleaned and reseasoned, but looks to be in great shape.
