I just got 80lbs. of Red Oak chunks from RC's firewood in Torrance for $20! If any of you SoCal folks are interested, send me a PM and I send you his number. He also has logs and can sell by the cord.

Sounds like a good deal. I spent that much in driving around to score some "free" oak - which I now have to chop and season.

Oh well... it's the thrill of the chase right? Wish I had a source like yours in Houston.
