different rib glaze or simplify my current glaze
I have been using a recipe for rib glaze for quite a few years. I found it somewhere on the internet and cannot even recall where as I can't locate it again. There are a thousand glaze recipes online and most only have 4-5 ingredients while this recipe has 14 (I added the 15th, bourbon. It wasn't originally on the list). People like the flavor of this sauce on ribs but I hate preparing it. I was wondering if I could get other ideas for a good glaze or even ideas on how to IMPROVE or REVAMP what I currently use. This is the recipe minus the kitchen sink :) Thanks
1 clove garlic minced 1 medium onion minced 5 tbsp butter 2 1/2 cups ketchup 1/2 cup dark corn syrup 1/2 cup honey 1/2 cup pineapple juice 1/3 cup cider vinegar 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 2 tbsp spicy mustard/w horseradish 2 tbsp Worcestershire 1 tbsp chili powder 2 tsp salt 1 tsp cayenne pepper 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper1 1 ounce of bourbon (optional) |

Westx beat me to it. Lots of great flavors (I'm a fan of their peach habanero). Their rib candy is a great glaze.

Kosmos glazes are also really good if you like a little thicker glaze.

If I was a glazer, I'd definitely try the rib candy stuff. A lot of the upper end youtube guys love it. Mango Habanero seems to be a popular choice.
I keep meaning to try it myself sometime..

Don't know the difference between glaze and sauce but I use Sweet Baby Rays Original and cut it with about 2:1:1 Worcestershire Sauce and water. It thins out the bbq sauce a bit as I don't like real thick or alot of sauce on my ribs. I put it on about 45 minutes before they come off the smoker. Nice flavor and not overpowering for those of us who don't like alot of sauce. I've substituted apple juice for water sometimes.
2 parts BBQ sauce of your choice 1 part Worcestershire Sauce 1 part water/apple juice |

What I have used for a glaze for years is equal parts of my sauce and honey. This maintains the same flavor profile but adds the sticky part for a glaze.
