Your not the only one i cant find crap here in Colorado for webers used under 100$ even lol but as i stated befor Wally World has a char-grill one that's $40 and has a 22.6in lid and 22.5 in grate in it so may resort to that being a donor grill for my UDS...

Patience is a virtue, but if you gott go, you gotta go.

I've got an old Weber I'd give you if you were in my neck of the woods.

Good luck Gents.

Has anyone used the high heat expanding foam in a smoker? I know people have used the high silicon but haven't heard if the foam is safe for inside the smoker.

Nice work. BTW, some people have used the bottom of the weber as a lid as well. So potentially you could build 4. Just throwing that out there since you seemed to have some difficulties finding the webers.

Hey Big D... You found your Weber! Good deal.

Looking at your pics, I have a couple of humble suggestions that might make your life a little easier:

1. Take a hammer and flatten out the lip of the lid. Then, put it back on the drum, center it as precisely as you can and then hammer the edges back down. This will provide you a much tighter seal - to the point where it will almost "click" into place - and will help you control temps and fuel consumption better.
2. Turn your ball valve over so the handle is on top. It will make it easier to adjust.
3. Get it up on some wheels. I used the wheels and axle from the donor Weber and cut one of the legs down to make a spacer leg for the opposite side.
4. Put some kind of ash-catcher under the coal grate. A 16" pizza pan from Wally World is like a $1.50. This will make cleaning MUCH easier.

Keep us posted on the build. I can't wait to see it all purty.

You're not gonna find one out here, Jerry. People don't throw chit out like they do in the city. There are some great ways to build some extension lids from other drums.
