What to do with left over chicken? Hmm, since it was a bit disappointing to a few of my Brethren simply baked after a pan frying experience, I decided to kick it up a notch.
Growing up I knew this dish as Chicken Ala King and it was served with rice. My wife introduced this dish to me as "Koninginnhaptje" which translated from Dutch means " Snack for the Queen". This dish is served inside a flaky and airy puffed pastry and is chicken, mushrooms, and vegetables sauteed with fresh cream and typically served with fries. Without further ado, I present my Koninginnehapje ala Bresse!
