I use a trigger action livestock antibiotic injector. $20 at your local tractor supply.

I've been using the ones that come free with the Cajun Injectors- Creole butter jars. Works fine for me. I find them at Wally World or most grocery stores.

Spitjack. The cheap ones aren't worth spit IMHO.

That's about all I've used, too.

I can see where the better models would help, though....larger particles and longer needles along with greater volume.

That is the livestock injector exactly

Producer's Pride® ProShot II Syringe, 50cc Capacity

Google it and see if you can get it online. I believe butchers bbq sells them as well.

I use a really cheap injector with disposable needles. You can't order them online from the kansascitybbqstore but if you email them they will add them to your order. I never wash needles. I use them and then throw them away.

Big +1! Love it! Nice sharp tip. Gotta go from the sides of the flat or it will leave holes. Turns out that's what I do anyways. Win win.
The big one with 6"needle and 12 holes

Largely, they all work to a degree. For smaller cooks, you can use the free ones that come with some injections. Those tend to last a time or two, but are generally worth about what you paid for them. You can find much better ones in that size range made of Stainless Steel that hold up much better. I've had mine for probably 15 years now and injected perhaps 1000 butts with it, it's still going. Getting larger, for things like whole hogs and such, you'll want one that draws from a bucket and is much larger, the kind like you'll find at jacksoldsouth.com. Otherwise, you can get the good smaller ones almost everywhere; I think I got mine online at amazon, but I dont recall...

I order them here http://www.jefferspet.com/aluminum-h...ET/cp/0029536/
and they are cheap. I use the XQ-A3 Needle $0.20 each and the XQ-DE syringe
http://www.jefferspet.com/luer-lock-...IV/cp/0029534/
at $0.69 each and their shipping is pretty cheap.
