cooked on it again tonight.. At this point, more than half of the top gasket has just fallen off and when I opened the lid, it took the bottom gasket with it. Nearly no gasket left. Cant say Im overly thrilled about having to replace a gasket in less than 2 weeks.

dealer said to register the egg online, but i didnt see anyplace on the website to do that.. Anyone have a phone number for BGE?

Don't think you can register online or by phone but you can and should mail in the warranty card that is in the back of the book that comes with the egg. Here is corp office phone # (770) 938-9394

Vitale did notr offer any other immediate help on their part to get the new gasket or firebox ?

From BGE website...

PROCEDURES FOR WARRANTY SERVICE
Contact your nearest Big Green Egg Dealer for part replacement under the conditions of the Warranty. Be prepared to furnish the following: purchaser's name, date of purchase, location of purchase, and an accurate description of the problem or the defective parts.

Oh professor dog, stick with Science.

NY Strip, KC Strip, Shell Steaks, Strip Steaks AND Delmonicos. All the same cuts. Rule here is a whole shell can be cut different ways.. if steaks are cut under one inch its a strip, over one inch its a shell or Delmonico. In reality, they are ALL Shell steaks.

There were several eggs that lost gaskets right off the bat at last years BGE fest...it wasn't pretty. The BGE rep was scrambling to find replacement gaskets for all the folks that purchased demo eggs (myself included) He was doing some serious damage control.

I was cooking on two eggs...one was doing a brisket flat @ 250 and the other was doing grilled stone fruits @ 350-400...the gasket on the one running @ 400 peeled off right away...the 250 was fine. THAT'S the one I brought home. It's been fine so far...
