For me it isn't just ribs - it's pulled pork, chuck, brisket, all that. I actually had a profound experience with Bigmista's pastrami - cold - this week.

Have you ever inhaled water while swimming? Do it on purpose after cooking, it will clear out the smoke from your sinuses and everything will taste better.

I ran over to a buddy's house today to help him install an awning... as soon as I walked in he said "Oh damn, what are you smoking today?"

Once I realized he meant "what was I cooking" I replied "turkey over cherry" and he commented that someone should make a cologne that smells like that.

My wife agrees, which is why I'll go to bed after a full day cooking without a shower and enjoy the Que more the next day. ;)

My name is Vanbo, and I too snort tap water.

I do my best to keep my head out of the smoke but, that's nearly impossible. I will also shower and change shirts all to enjoy the fruits of my labor a bit more.

My food always has a nice smoke ring but I'm still asking the wife and kids how the smoke flavor is.

Verrrrry interesting. I thought it was just me. Especially after a long smoke, like doing butts all day and then pulling, it can be almost nauseating for me. I thought wth? But it always tastes great later or the next day. Good to know.

I agree with the OP... I notice it alot with poultry cold the next day.. It seems as if the smoke flavor is more pronounced.
