So what's the cost comparison to run this one vs a standard model? I love my beast, but it's hungry...

You may consider having Pelletheads.com do a performance test. It doesn't cost anything except shipping the cooker to them. They have tested a lot of pellet grills. Contact Larry on the website.

You could send one to an experienced pellet cook, competition cook and coffee roaster in the Chicago area and he could do a thorough test in the field and post the results right here on the good ol' BBQ Brethren.
