I have a friend that has the weber cast grate insert. He seems to like it for searing and getting those hash marks. Cheaper alternative as well.
Any reason you want the cast iron over the one that comes with the weber?

That's an excellent economical idea.:clap2:if yer tight like me, I just throw a cast iron grate from another grill on top of the regular grate and cook that way. works great.
