Default Made some smoked chicken gumbo, I did too.

Saw Fingerlickin's post after I made a pot last Sunday too. Funny we were thinking the same thing.

http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=174601

Figured I would get in on my FIRST throwdown too

I used this recipe I found while googling http://creolecontessa.blogspot.com/2...age-gumbo.html

And modified it slightly.

Rubbed one turkey leg and one chicken with Tony Chachere's and Peanut oil. The rest Peanut Oil and Plowboy's Yardbird.

Fired up the WSM with some peach and apple wood and had a beer while she came up to temp

Poultry getting all happy on the WSM

Turkey Legs done, one for the gumbo and the rest for snacks while we cook

Used local sausage instead of Andouille....

Some veggies...

Let's get all this in the pot!

Cajun Napalm (whisk, whisk, whisk)

Need a beer while I whisk

Added in the roux and Shredded Chicken

And it's dinner time!!!

Fun way to spend a Fall Sunday afternoon and the Gumbo turned out great. Plenty of leftovers for a rainy day too - thanks for looking!!

You can have that bowl. I'll take the rest of the pot!

Man, I could go for some of that right now.

Hey I don't remember posting these pictures but I feel like I've seen that thread title somewhere before.

The gumbo looks great man. I suppose you'll beat me in the throwdown too since I forgot to include beer in my post.
