Disclaimer, I sell all listed brands for a living, but the reason I recommend them is because I know them and trust them.

We've designed and built a lot of custom kitchens. I myself am working on one for my house that will have a YS640, a pizza oven, a power burner, a fridge, a sink, plus plenty of dry storage.

The built in ceramic grills (Primo, BGE, Kamado Joe) are very nice, and are very versatile, though (IMO) they lack space for the money. Have you thought about a charcoal built in head? There are a few out there that are quite nice and won't break the bank, then you can have a smoker that is a bit more portable for convenience.

Also, don't think that you have to spend $4k to get a nice built in gas head. Check out the Napoleon Gourmet Grills line. Their built-ins start at $899 and are incredible cookers for high heat grilling and such. Plus, if you want charcoal, you can just add their charcoal tray on one side and cook with either or.

In other words, there are a lot of options out there, so take some time and make sure it has everything you would want before you start building.

We get a lot of summer rain showers down here in florida. Plus the sun can take a toll on you in the summer as well. I had a florida room built last year and wanted an area to get out of the elements when needed. Half way through the florida room build I made a change for an extra door. I just know how many times I will run back and forth to the house. It all worked out pretty good. Its still a work in progress, but so far its been nice for football season. Every week end we have a nice crowd.

Custom pit with a OTG / BGE or other Kamodo style / WSM.

You can also always pick up a Weber Q grill if you want a propane backup.

I've been working on my backyard for the last year and a half. Like you're doing, I put down a paver patio and also did a cover and just wrapping up my island. If I had to do it again, I would have put a spot in the island for a kamado grill. Oh well, I'll just have it off to the side now.

Just finishing up the lighting. Need to put some led strip lights underneath the counter and bar area still.
