Pardon my ignorance, but what is "Detroit Style"? I'm familiar with Chicago and NY, but I've never tried that. Looks dang good, just wanted to know what I'm missing!!!!

It's like a Sicilian thick pizza but you use white cheddar on the edges to get the crispy cheese and oil or shortening on bottom so you get a crunchy fried type bottom.

It's not Detroit, but this Brooklyn/NYC sicilian from Difara's is considered by many to be the best square/sicilian in NY..

Watch the video to hear the oil frying the dough in the pan as it comes out of the oven and then the crunch as it's being portioned with the wheel.
