Default Good BBQ mat?

I have a Weber Smokey Mountain and love it but it cracks my flagstone. I am contemplating a BBQ mat. I'm thinking of this one:

Brinkmann 44-Inch by 30-Inch Grill Mat

Anyone have any info or other suggestions?

Thanks and BBQ it hardcore!!

How does it crack your flagstone? Weight? Heat? Can't be enough weight so I'm guessing heat. I'm surprised that your WSM gives off enough heat to crack flagstone. The newer ones have a heat shield between bowl and floor. Maybe you could adapt one of those to your WSM. (I'm presuming yours does not have one since it is cracking your flagstone.)

Don't know about cracking, but just to contain any possible mess to the patio I park the smoker on one of those metal oil-drip pans from Auto Zone. About 8 bucks.

That's most likely an old trick for this bunch, but it seemed like a good idea after smoking two 7# pork shoulders at the same time produced a little too much "overflow".

I have Twp of these. Been using since I made the patio about 4 months ago. No complaints. Would buy again.

The heat shield dampens the heat somewhat but it still flies through cracking my flagstone.
