A little pargrilling for added flavor...

Into the beans and layer some bacon...

And onto the kettle with some KF Comp and a few chunks of hickory for smoke during the bake...

Got the kettle settled in at 300.

After about an hour everything was cooked through including the bacon.

Wasn't browned at the cooking temp though

So, a couple minute cheat under the broiler...

A little rest, time to do the buttered toasted buns.

I've been trying to recreate my Great Aunt Agnes's baked beans recipe for a long time. She did it from sight too and never wrote anything down. This time I got darn close enough to what I remember it used to be like. Aun't (We'uns says ANT y'all) Agnes made the best baked beans ever.

Very nice, Guerry!

I love it when you butter your buns and insert your tubesteak!

The beans were just an added bonus!

Thanks! Who'da thunk such a simple dish as beanie weenies would have turned out to be an all day production?
