I set the huge pieces aside to throw in my offset.

If I dont like that, I will bust them up as suggested.

I would rather bust up huge pieces than try to deal with useless gravel sized pieces.

I use the back side of a hatchet. Just a tap and they fall apart. Considering the price, it's well worth it. And as for pricing, that bag of Lazzari is about $13 in W. Washington state.

I forgot to mention that by beating on the chunks in a bucket all the charcoal stays in the bucket instead of flying all over the place.

I used to use Lazzari all the time when my local grocery store carried it. I always liked it. Too bad they stopped carrying it. My local Restaurant Depot carries it in the big bags for cheap (forgot price). Really good stuff with HUGE chunks in it.

My favorite is Wicked Good. It is just really hard to get. I am trying to become a distributor of Wicked Good but they are currently out of product according to the owner. Hopefully that will change soon.

I really like Lazzari lump. Their headquarters is here in California, so that's why we get it the cheapest.

I break 'em up with my bare hands!

It is usually around $13 for the 40# bag at Cash and Carry here. I do wish they could get the oak but they claim they cannot. I like the stuff.

Here in Reno, I have bought it at Raley's for fairly cheap. Sometimes there are huuuuuuuuge pieces of Mesquite charcoal inside the bag.

Neonnblack: you didn't tell me that Suzie's is an Adult Book Store. I thought that I was looking for a restaurant and Cash and Carry was located behind it! Anyhow, picked some Lazarri's up today. BTW, Suzie's was pretty busy for a Sunday morning, at least the parking lot was busy. Thanks, again.
