Default Holy Cold Smoker!

I, like most of the brethren, have an ECB.

I bought mine because of the price, but after seeing the mods I would have to make to make it smokeworthy, stashed it on the side yard.

...and it sat for three years, looking on as a Double Barrel Smoker and a UDS took its place and got all the attention (which cost WAYYYY more than doing the mods for the ECB)...

Last week, as I waiting for my UDS to come to temp, I decided to give the "strainer" cold smoker from THIS thread

http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=153009

another try.

I was able to get it working! How? No torch, no tea light. I used a few briquettes!

I got a 3 hour burn out of my config.

Then the light bulb went off!

I grabbed the ECB and tried my experiment again. Voila!

So I have a use for a non-modded ECB, and in honor of returning it Cook's row, I have named it:

Robin. I am still learning how to paint......

Super cool!

I always dig "repurposing". Glad you brought it back to life! Nice paint job!

My old ECB has been handed down at least twice by now. But the good part is it continues to get handed down because each owner gets a better cooker. In my case I've bought at least 10 better cookers (sold a few) and acquired a huge BBQ addiction since.
