Wood stove as firebox?
I'm pretty excited by the idea of this.
http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=157655 But I didn't want to hijack. Has anyone used an old parlor stove as a firebox? Non catalytics are illegal here and pretty easy to get. I don't think it matters outdoors (yet). Here's what I'm looking at. It even comes with the pipe and dampers. |

I've thought about it a few times, but never have done it. Most of these stove are made out of cast iron which will make it difficult to weld unless you have the proper equipment.

I have had the same thought.I been looking for one on the cheap.I have a huge SS commercial freezer(non working) that I want to turn into a smoker and use one of those as the smoke generator.

A former Carribean/BBQ fusion joint here in town, now a Taco Joint uses this commercially. Looks like the exact same stove with the legs removed.
