1st bacon attempt

My first attempt at bacon. Most pork bellies I see posted look thicker. Mine had some pretty thin spots. It still turned out pretty tasty and for $2.19 a pound seemed pretty good.

I smoked using peach and pear chucks.

I love home cured bacon. Yours looks good. In Sydney it costs more for the belly than one can buy bacon. Our belly is around three times dearer than the product you have access to.

Nice looking bacon! I still can't figure out why I can't find belly for that price in Iowa, where most of the darn pig's come from.

Thanks all. It took me a lot of searching to finally find this one. He said he usually don't sell these since they brine and slice for their store.
I found another place about 40 minutes away, They go for $2.89 a pound.
But yea you would think you could get a good price in Iowa.
