Entering Competitions
Do most competitions have a website that you can enter your information to compete?
Thanks, Bigbeef 24 Big Pappa UDS |

Some, but it seems that most still have forms to print, fill ot and send in with your check.

Of the ones I've entered only a few offer online submissions either via PayPal or credit card. I remember maybe 3 of the 19 last year you could do online vs sending a check. I like the online submission too. Hopefully more will go that route.

Keep in mind that the online world has not endeared itself to all. For every person that prefers an online information and payment system, there's at least one that cries "You shouldn't have to have a COMPUTER to do BBQ!"
Some competitions offer online submission as an option; many, if not most, have an online form which is to be filled out by the contestant and sent in with payment (or payment by another means can often be arranged). But there's really no standard. I've done websites of both types for contests; it really depends on what the contest wants. Lynn H. |

There could be some real improvement made with the entering a bbq contest process. It is really rather cumbersome for 2013.

Not sure if you know bout the KCBS site ? if not http://www.kcbs.us/events.php?type=&...th=4&year=2013 you can filter your search by month and year. By clicking on the event name your interested in ,it brings up another screen tha usually has a website for the ccompetition. If its a long way off yet sometimes not.

Cutting through all the BS, the short answer in my experience is "no." Most [KCBS] competitions require you to print out their forms (from a website), write in your info, and send in a check. There are exceptions, but as some one who has entered about 20 competitions in the past two years, I can say that they truly are the excepetions in the Southeast.
