I had an electric then moved to a Traeger. My opinion is you'll still be wondering "where is the smoke". I had the little tex as well. The only way I could get a decent smoke flavor was to put it on the smoke setting, 180 degrees....I had it for a year and never did like it for a smoker.I sold it and bought an Oklahoma joes longhorn. Not the best pit out there but suits me for now.

I had a traeger for a little while...didn't like the flavor...sold it. I had a BGE large for a while...it cooked fine, but in my opinion not any better than my weber kettle, and if I wanted low and slow I used my stickburner or WSM because capacity was limited on the BGE...sold it. So how does this help you? I don't know. I'd say buy a 22.5" WSM for low and slow, and a 22.5 OTG for searing steaks and grilling. You can buy a lot of meat if you've only spent $550 for the WSM and OTG compared to the cost of a BGE and Traeger.
