received my 732 on Friday in mail....during testing and setting up temps and alarms found that the button on the rear of the transmitter did not work to TURN ON the device but it worked fine for TURNING OFF. I have to unscrew the back, remove batteries, and then re-insert to get it to come on by itself.

Only sequence I noticed was to do it in certain amount of time to sync the two devices.... anyone else have issue with the transmitter not coming on from using just the button?

Otherwise it worked great and was nice being able to set it on table and sit in my chair watching pre-game yesterday and being able to see the temps. :)

I have a Maverick ET-732. After about 10 cooks the pit probe went bad. Otherwise it works well.

Sent from my Android phone.

I have a habit of not taking care of my toys, so I go buy the cheapest ones I can find since I know they are going to be broken within a couple years or far less :)

Surprisingly, I picked up a no name brand wired probe thermo with timer from academy. it's been used literally hundreds of times and still works great. boiling water test is always right on too. It set me back a whole $9 on clearance.

It really is nice, isn't it.

I used to go hang out with a neighbor and sip a few brews....all the while watching my grilling temps.

Sunday I was able to sit in recliner, sip a beer, and watch pregame while cooker set steady around 245* for a few hours without getting up...glancing over and seeing it go 238-245 depending on how hard wind was blowing around.....magic!!!

I typically mow the yard or put up Christmas lights or something. I like your idea better

I have ET-73 and ET-732's. Both work well, although I have had several probe issues. They're inexpensively made, but Maverick service is pretty great
