I have a range of German & Japanese knifes that are excellent knives but I find I keep coming back to a couple of Dexter Russell knives. The Dexter Russell knives are a good value quality product.
When you stop horsing around it is time to fire up the BBQ & Smoker

I have a handful of Shuns. Would be willing to sharpen one of yours for you.

Once you get the edge it's easy to keep them sharp. I use a fine ceramic hone that works wonders.

I am the wacko who wanted old-school French pattern carbon steel. I ordered directly from the K-Sabatier factory in France:

They have stainless models as well if you prefer low maintenance. The prices are good, but the shipping stings a bit. The bonus is that they will engrave your name on the blade for free.

Rather than go for a set I'd get one good chef knife.....look here:

I'd get the 8 inch if I were you - I did already and love it. If you get a Wusthof get one from the Ikon line as they are superior to the normal ones and only abit more cash. Cutlery And More is a great place to shop for knives and they offer free delivery to the States on orders over 49 bucks. I live in Canada and must pay for shipping but still have ordered from there and saved a bundle. Their sales are smokin' as well. I got stuff from there cheaper than what I could find on eBay used!!!
