Yep, it definitely needs to cool off a bit here before I even think of stepping outside to cook. It's supposed to hit farking 52 today, a farking ridiculous farking heat wave! I might as well jump in the farking oven!

You Aussie's know that 52 degrees is WAY too hot to cook!

Wait a minute...

Are we talking Farenheit or Celsius here?

I lived in Alice Springs, NT for 6 years. I remember cooking out on the barby on Christmas day when it was 115 degrees F out.

It was better to cook outside than have the hot oven going inside.

Just have a cold beer, get the barby going, have another cold beer, throw the meat on, have another cold beer, well you get the picture.

Sounds like a cool summer's day around here. My pit gets over 150F just sitting in the sun during the summer.

I have actually tried to fry an egg on the pavement in 110-degree heat here in Texas. It didn't work. 110 is hot enough to kill an animal, but not hot enough to cook it.

I cooked a whole hog on the hottest day of the decade. The heat index that day was around 130*F. I walked outside my front door at 4:00 am to start the fire and immedietly started sweating like I had just jogged a mile and the heat only got worse as the day went on.

I hope I never have to do anything like that again! It sucked.

Here is a pic taken just after the sun came up.

My sis lives in Sydney and has just been spending the days in the water. Head out to Bondi or Coogi.

Australia adds new colour to temperature maps as heat soars

Forecast temperatures are so extreme that the Bureau of Meteorology has had to add a new colour to its scale.

The heat in Sydney is a humid heat. Today is likely to be the third highest on record.
This evening I will be BBQing a marinated boned leg of lamb so I am not wimping it out altogether.
Great sharing the responses - lots of fun for a new member.

lol Thanks! That one made me laugh!! I'll mention it to my Texas friends.

Sounds pretty hot in your area, hope you find a way to keep cool!
