Cute! Have you smoked a steak @ 225 yet? Very similar results.

Looks delicious! I've been looking at this machine for a while now. All the votes are not in yet, but I enjoy watching what others have been doing with it.

I probably do 80% of my steaks outside but I love a high end steakhouse steak and this was as good as it gets in that regard. |

They are great. We use ours several times a week. You'll never eat chicken breast any other way once you SV one. I have a pork belly going in now for 4 days. Stay tuned for that one. I have tons of other cooks posted on another forum (I'm a BGE guy) and they are all so easy and so good. 5 day short ribs, steaks, soft boiled eggs (one of the best things you can do SV- like a custard). It's really cool and it is really as easy as the thread says. I did the pics just to prove a point, but it's really true.

![]() They really aren't that hard to make. For $100 you can mod out a crock pot, rice cooker or something like that. They aren't as accurate, which is kind of a problem with real sous vide, but it's ok for hot tubbing steaks and stuff. I'm doing a 4 day cook starting tonight and I won't check the temp once. That's where the extra $ comes in. |
