Mixing Curing Salts And Cola=Deadly???
Noticed this in the Stella Culinary brining science video that someone posted a while back.
https://www.stellaculinary.com/podca...-resource-page At about 10:20 into the fourth video, the guy mentions that you should never mix curing salts with cola because it could form a potentially lethal compound. I did a little googling and couldn't really find anything else about it. Anybody here ever heard this? |

If its true, just think. Lots of folks cure their own hams in a wet brine. Its not all that unlikely that someone would try it using cola.
