First off, I think there should be three separate plugs and jacks for probe, power and fan. The included plug is messy. Received mine with one wire not connected. I connected it with no problem, but shouldn't have to. The piece on the back looks like it could maybe be used, either to connect to some kind of stand or something. Otherwise get rid of it. You could maybe print some instructions on the back. I set it to 200 F and it goes to 227 F. When it gets back down to 205F, the fan is running. This is the third time I have tried it. What can I do? I really want this to work, but just don't think it is finished. |

Fine tuning P,I,D.
Press "SET" for a few seconds till appearing "P", click "SET" will appear I, and D. #1,set I=0, D=0 and try different P value. Draw grahping of temperature vs time for different value of P You will find best value of P #2, Using above P or a little smaller, set D=0, and try different I, drawing graph again you will find best I #3, Uing about P,I and try different D, drawing graph, you will find D. By fine tuning PID, you will shorten "learning" period and less temperature swing |

In WOLF I use 4 plugs for power, fan and probes. I use one plg in DOG in purpose

Temperature swing depands on the controller and the smoker itsself.
Yesterday I smoked 2 lbs mutton together with potato, sweet potato, and corn I set smoker temperature at 320F and meat targeted at 160F. It took about one hour for meat to reach to 160F. I kept the meat at 160 F for 3 hours. It is well done and juicy too. NO wrapped, not watering. In chinese tradition we eat meat always WELL DONE. Personally I think that temperature effects less on mutton. The smoker temperature jumped between 317F to 321F. In most time 319F to 321 F. When keeping meat at 160F, smoker temperature dropped also and the corn was half done, OK I ate it. but the potato and sweet potato were nearly un cooked. I used reverse flow offset grill with my gravity feed burner and controller of LION. For the grill please visit www.allchinas.com and Model is Reverse 282 I add 1" of lining by stove mud inside, which is not shown in the web pictures Even with reverse flow, and forced circulation inside the grill, temperature difference from left to right is as high as 10F. Does anyone mearsure temperature difference at both ends on a common offset |
