I Finally got my UDS started
I've wanted to build a UDS for a while now and I've finally gotten a drum and an old 22.5" Weber for parts.
my drum.JPG My drum I cut out the bottom.JPG I cut out the bottom because I'm going to invert my drum Rim.JPG I added a strip to the edge hoop for the top.JPG I bent a hoop out of 1/2" square tubing to run around the inside of the top just to make the lid fit better with my bottom on the top.jpg My bottom as a top, I'll post more pics as my build progresses.

From personal experience, get the dreaded red liner sand or media blasted... That UDS is going to be awesome. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I'm getting ready to do my burn-out. I have installed my nipples and valve. I've partially sanded out some of the red-dread(what a PITA) I'm hoping that a burn out will soften it to the point that it will sand out easier. I will post some more pics tomorrow.

I'm in the process of making some really cool hinges now. Here's a picture of my mock-up.
This is my hinge in the closed position hinge closed.jpg and this is in the open position. I should have them done soon.
