I have read that the instructions not the best, but still helpful, but I received my Tiger today and it came without any instructions. If there is anyway someone can scan the instructions and send them to me as a word document or pdf I'd be very grateful.

I do not know what power you will use. Indeed 100 buyers may have 100 different powers.
The wire with ONE connector is power line for you. Attached connector is for MY controller. You need to connect your power to the other end |

The connector for fan is 2 pins.
The connector for power is 3 pins. The connectrs for probe are smaller. You will never make a mistake. |

Would Wang or one of the Brethren who own things unites assist. Thankfully my son knows how to solder so I was able to get need get the right connector for the power cord to work with my batter and my ac/dc converter.
Now my problem is I've been following the direction Wang provided via his website. I was able to change from C to F. I have set the pit temp to 225F. The next step in the instructions are for setting minimum fan speed. I have gotten to where the read out reads "UDS" as instructed, but mine actually says "UdS" and the "AUTO" light is green. However, regardless whether I press the "-" clear to "0" or the "+" to the maximum which is 255 the fan never comes one. So I'm stuck at this point. I sure wish Wang would hire someone who speaks and writes English fluently to write a easier to read and follow set of instructions. I'm really anxious to get this thing up and running, because I have a 9lb butt that has been waiting in the freezer for the arrival of this controller and I'd really like to put it on for dinner tomorrow.

I have the Lion. I know its not too much help, but I would encourage you to be patient. Once you have the product up and running, you will love it.
I have my UDS set at 60. I could not get it to do exactly what the instructions said, but a setting of 60 works just fine for me. |

I have never messed with changing the fan speed. For a typical cook, I just set the 1st pit set at the desired temp and set a long duration. I set the meat temp to 0 and turn it to auto. Sometimes it needs a little help "learning" the pit and I have to switch it to manualfor a bit to get the temps into the range they need to be. Once it is running it will hold forever. This is on a UDS by the way. Have you tried running it without messing with the minimum fan setting adjustments?

**Edit** Even though when I follow the directions for setting UDS above the fan does not start while in that set up mode as is suggested it will in the directions I've discovered it starts when I place the controller in manual and while in manual allows me to adjust the fan speed up and down. This leads me to believe that the manual incorrectly indicates that the fan will start when setting UDS. The second issue I've discovered as it appears the battery I purchased from Ebay is either the incorrect battery or is no good. I double checked with Wang to see if the battery I was choosing would run the unit, but the fan will not run with the battery, but it will work when I plug it into an outlet via an ac/dc adapter. The following is the description the Ebay Auction gave of the battery I purchased. Should this battery work? Descriptions: This Rechargeable battery is a 12 V 6800mah Li-ion Battery and it is specially designed for powering the system device which use 12V DC power. You can use this battery to power our powerful wireless transmitter, CCTV camera and so on . Suitable for your need Specifications: Color: Blue Weight:162g Capacity: 6800mAh. Type:DC 12680 Size:90X62X19(mm) Built-in ON/OFF switch to save power usage Input voltage: 12.6V Output voltage: 10.8~12.6 DC Product life: Circulation charge and discharge ≥500 times

Pressing + and - in manual mode will adjust the fan speed. If you are in Auto mode, what other settings have you set? The fan will only come on when there is a target temp it is trying to reach.

Answer to Gr8adventure
1.Bateery, if it is what it claims to be, it is GREAT! Obviously it is not 2.Min. fan speed. You can forget it! or Press "SET1" a few second till P appreaing, press "SET1" a few times till "UdC" appearing, Press left arrow "<" (I guess that you forget this step), and "AUTO" will blink, press "+", "-" to minimum speed of fan. 3.AUTO mode: please test it in your smoker, not on your desktop. What you mentioned is feature of P.I.D controller, a great feature than drawback |

IMO a hard copy manual should come with the unit and that the electronic copy should be in pdf rather than an HTML web page. I also was initially confused when I saw the online manual and the pictured controller is a different model than my Tiger. I saw nothing explaining the instructions are the same for all available models. That confusion may not make sense, but that did throw me off for a bit. A native English speaking technical writer should be hired to write a more thorough basic operation manual. Nevertheless after starting this morning around 9:00 a.m.. I think I've finally figured it out and look forward to my first butt cook, likely tomorrow.
Wang, thank you for your response to my questions. Now I need to find out if I either charged my battery incorrectly or if I got a bad one. Good night all!

I am sorry that I tried to help someone with an honest question. Gr8tadventure, Pm me with any questions that I might be able to help with. It is obvious that this thread has degraded to douchebaggery and I will not submit myself to anything more. I am pretty sure I can get you up and running. Sorry to those that I may have offended, I am now done and on vacation from you ****s much like Guerry was. Thank you for making so difficult to help someone with a question.

Wow. This is insane and upsetting.
I like this product. I am going to shoot a video. I will post it on my website. I will include a .pdf manual that I will write. I will do this all for free. Why? Because I think pellet is getting bullied here. If everyone understands that there are some language issues and this is a new product that is rough around the edges, then you know what you are getting into when you buy. At this moment the Lion is not plug and play, but when you have gotten through the learning curve you will be very very pleased at the value it offers. I love the Internet. I have learned much from others. I have benefitted from the passion of others and have received much for little or no cost to myself. I am going to give back by helping Woodpellet out here. Please ask me if you have questions about the product. I will set up a new thread for this. |
