Raider & Viking UDS
Here's a few UDS that I made for my buddies. Let the record show that I'm the farthest thing from a Raider fan... In fact, I'm a diehard Bronco fan but I'm just that kind of friend .
Both were built following the simplest of designs with the addition of dual cooking racks and raised Ball Valve for easier adjustment. The addition I'm most proud of is the Hambone for the handle. It took about 6 coats of Polyurethane but I think it turned out awesome. |

Pretty straight forward, but thats what I like! As good as the Ultimate UDS Thread is, I spent more time here looking and admiring all the UDS builds. Great job everyone!

I was able to purchase a broken box/scratch & dent Weber Platinum as a base for my build. Picked up a food service drum and the build was on. Fabricated an all stainless steel fuel baseket and set the drum up for a pitmaster ique110, igrill and Maverick 732. I've cooked on it 7-8 times. Brought it to a comp last weekend and cooked brisket and ribs. She ran for 24 hours without adding charcoal. Love It!

Photos of my first UDS build. The project was inspired by the popular science article but fueled by this board. Still some mods to do but it's ready for seasoning. The lid is from a new uniflame kettle I bought at walmart - the hinges needed new holes drilled and I had to flange out the back of the lid a touch.
Edit - photos don't seem to link. They are here: http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/23996...3031&k=24ngBmv Last edited by DeepSeaCowboy; 07-05-2012 at 09:25 PM.. Reason: Photos not linking |

Basic
This is my basic UDS. Oh and my guard dog of the meat. Keeping hungry neighbors away since 2010.
