We were at the Pitmaker shop this weekend picking up our new Vault and grill. I took a few pics of the sniper door. There is a baffle mounted over the lower gasket to keep the grease off of it. I really dont see the door design being a problem, and it is really farking cool. To me the best feature is the firebox, it is double wall insulated. I gave up horizontal pipe pits years ago, if I ever bought another horizontal smoker this would be the one.

Here are some pics of our new Vault vertical smoker. Let me tell you this thing is a work of art. These guys put alot of pride into their work, and the craftsmanship is outstanding. We did the biscuit test as soon as we got it home, and the smoker is damn near even top to bottom, front to back. We smoked 4 racks of spares and a load of turds for the 4th, we are really happy with the way the vault cooks. We've been cooking on a Backwoods party for a few years, so there was not much of a learning curve. The Vault cooks much more even, and the difference in build quality is night and day.

I'm not sure why Zilla has personal grudge with these guys, but we found them to be VERY professional, and GREAT to work with. We spent an afternoon at their shop about a month ago when researching our next pit, and they were very generous with their time, and patient with all of our questions. We made a few tweaks to our vault, and wanted the space under to be used as a cabinet. They sent us CAD drawings of the lower cabinet until we were satisfied. Their shop was supposed to be closed for the holiday weekend, but we got them to come in and install our pits on our trailer Saturday. Again, great customer service and a great group of guys. I suggest anyone in the market go give these guys a look.
