Default Vending has whooped me

So we set up for the second time today selling concessions. It went much smoother than the first time. We grossed about the same as we did the first time but my cost was 40% less this time. Still kind of sucks that I used to sell butts to friend, I would cook then call them and they would come within the hour and pick them up and I would pocket $600 profit give or take and now I spent a fortune to become legal and have a mobile kitchen, insurance and all that and prep all evening, cook all night and vend all day and did not make as much as selling butts to friends.

We did 14 butts, 6 rack spare ribs, baked apples, baked beans and cole slaw. Sold a lot more drinks this time vs the 1st time. sold all the ribs the first hour. We started selling at 11.00am sales were great til 2:15 then slow from there. We shut it down at 6:30 and had about 2 butts and a little sides left, need to figure out how to get my profit up 40-50% for the amount of time involved. I will definatly do more ribs next time. We sold sandwiches, meals w/2 sides, and by the lb.

Any tips?

Best of luck brother, we vend about 4 times a year at small summer concerts in the park and a local carnival every year. It is a lot of work. hopefully you will get catering gigs out of this
