So I was at the store today and they had whole boneless pork loin for $1.89lb.
It looked fairly well trimmed but.. the cryovac was really loose and had a slimy appearance/feel inside the bag. I passed since I had a feeling that when I cut open the bag I would not be happy.
Am I crazy?

It's hard to tell. If the cryo was loose it probably had a void in it. I think I would have passed, too.

No, you are not crazy. I would pass on a cryovac sealed piece of meat if the plastic bag was loose. You do NOT want air inside that cryovac package. That plastic should be skin-tight, or don't buy it, IMO.

Thanks guys. I thought I was right. I was going to ask the butcher is they had any frozen ones but just moved on.
