Congrats to the hottest team in the land, The Swine Assassins, on their 2nd GC in 2011! And this coming off a RGC last weekend in California. Great job turned in by a really fine family team.

Congrats also to McFrankenboo for their 1st Place calls in both Chicken & Pork, to Keggers BBQ for their 1st Place Pork call and to the master himself, Jaybird of Otis and the Bird for the big 1st Place call in Brisket.

Very special thanks to Rick Phillips and David Tyda, the contest organizers, who worked long and hard to make this a successful event and their efforts really paid off. It was a truly fun event and the public turned out in droves. Great job, guys!

Wow! Congrats to all, especially Swine Assassins and RnQ! Looks like we have the top team in the land coming to our contest next weekend in Pleasant Hill!

Congrats to Swine Assasins for the GC and a well traveled West Coast tour. Nice job. Props also to Vince and Alexa with Rhythm 'n Que, Jim and my twin sister Erin w/ McFrankenboo and Jay w/ Otis and the Bird. Noticed that some newer teams walked a few times as well.... BBQ PHX and Keggers. Solid job by all and congrats to everyone that got a call.

Word on the beach is that it was crazy busy for People's Choice. We heard that the Fire Marshall closed the gate due to overcrowding (unconfirmed). How was the PC side of this event?

This was indeed a great event. Congrats to Swine Assassins on the GC and R&Q coming in RGC. McFrankenboo tore it up with two wins and there were some first walks for some teams that have really been giving it their all.

Crash, the PC side was nuts. We took all our frozen practice meat for the past 4 months and it was gone in 2.5 hours. We had two packs of thighs we decided to cook after turn ins and we had a line 25 deep that waited for 40 minutes for half a thigh. Next year we are going really, really heavy.

Wanted to say thanks to everyone for the congrats. We had a great weekend with an amazing bbq community out in AZ and the weather couldn't have been better. I would recommend both contests (Wildomar and Scottsdale) to any teams looking for future contest to enter.

The BBQ Czar was a week early...I had Swine Assassins and Rhythm n Que going 1/2 in Wildomar the previous event.
