my daughters came home from collage this weekend and I like to send them back with a little food and I just finished my new smoker so it was time for the smoke test. I went a little heavy on the iron 3/16 inside and out 2" of insulation in the walls and 1 1/2 in the doors. I will add some stainless to it to dress it up in the spring (folding shelf and some flames) and a real paint job. I put 2 butts and a 19lbs turkey on @ 9:00 a.m and had it packed to go just after 5:00 I was really happy for my first cook. looking forward to see how it does in cold weather. thanks for looking.

Awesome! Your whole cooking area looks great too!

that thing has got to weigh a ton. good to see it worked so well.

Nice build! What is that cloned after.
Really nice first cook! Looks like nobody went hungry.

you can tell it's heavy but it rolls real east but it's like a train it takes some time to stop. and thanks pjtexas1 for the info i took out the maze and she held temp for over 12 hours. no water

Good lookin grub! Looked like a successful first cook! The more I see the cabinet cookers the more I think I would like them. I have two smokers I'm still kinda learning how to use so no more for me right now!

I have that same turkey platter

i really like the Humphreys smokers and wanted a battle box but built one size bigger so it's a pint clone with a drop in water pan. but with 5 racks with 5 1/2" of clearance it should hold 15 butts so i think it's more like a down east beast? i like lone stars charcoal tray with the ash pan so i went that route.

Your new smoker is a beauty! With addition improvements you planned it will be perfect!
Great looking food too!
Complimenti.

That is a good looking smoker!

I can't believe no one has mentioned the size of that spatula hanging on the pole behind the smoker!! That thing is massive!
