For me there are three main reasons:
- Availability - These will be available at most places where the blue bag is.
- Consistency - They are as consistent as their charcoal. People won't have to worry about good vs. bad wood.
- Measurable/Repeatable - The consistent size make them easy to measure, and thus easy to repeat.
