nice article
A recent news article referencing Bigmista as "a nationally famous BBQ chef". That was very nice, but he is INTERNATIONALLY famous.

Thank you very much to all who have pledged already, and remember, you can pledge as often as your situation allows. And a big thank you to Diesel Dave for his offer. Just think about it, 4 bottles of Simply Marvelous/BPS rubs are worth at least $50 on their own. And based on your donation amount to http://www.gofundme.com/6ok0tc you may also be receiving some of Bigmista's rubs as well

I just got notified of this. Looks pretty awesome, there's a whole BUNCH of cool people here. It's going to take me a while to get caught up with all these posts.
Just tell yourself that this is the mother of all UDS threads, and when you reach the end at page 25 instead of page 5 bazillion, you will be pleasantly surprised

Just checked on the GoFundMe campaign and to date there have been 45 donations for $5,765... thank you everyone for supporting Bigmista and MrsMista

Yes George it is. That's the reason they're called pledges and not donations

Thank you all who have helped raise the funds for the Mistas

Today's Bigmista flashback is from 9/10/2007... I hope you enjoy

I have been on this site for over 3 years now and I just reached 6000 posts (not including woodpile). I have learned a lot during this time and I like to share a few tidbits if you will indulge me...

1. Ask and it shall be given. If you need help with just about anything, just ask and you will get a response here in minutes. And not just BBQ stuff. There are many brilliant people and as long as it isn't "meaning of life" stuff, you will get an answer. There might be a joke involved though...

2. Go and meet them. If there is a brethren within 50 miles of you, go meet them. Whether they live nearby or are just visiting your area. Go have a beer or dinner with them. You won't be disappointed. I never have been.

3. Bash it! If you are ever invited, go to a brethren bash. Take the time off. Make the effort. It's worth it.

4. Poobah! Shake Phil's hand and you have a friend for life. Count on it!

5. Sharon is a Saint. Write that down and never forget it!

6. Jump in. You don't have to be an old time BBQ expert to compete. Take your smoker and jump in. Everyone, including the people you are competing against, will help you. Don't be bashful. Learning on the fly is fun!

7. It's probably wise not to mention that you like peanuts or pickles.

8. If you are ever invited to "the trailer", decline.

9. Norcoredneck can make anything.

10. Cooking a pig is easy. Getting crispy skin is hard.

11. Spam in luggage is funny. Spam in carry-on luggage isn't. (Actually, it is but not to the guy getting strip searched.)

12. Fat Dad laughs at his own farts while he is sleeping.

13. Apparently it is against the rules to be a Brethren and not snore.

14. Yodeling is not music.

15. Bonfires in the backyard are cool.

16. I still haven't had cheesy bread.

17. Jorge really exists.

18. If you meet Chad, plan to learn a lot. Also plan your exit strategy.

19. It's possible to be Country and from New York.

20. Apparently BBQ and Surfing do go together.

21. Always keep some cherry wood and watch for turtles on the perimeter.

There are thousands of other things that I haev learned but it's my lunch time and I'm starving.

I love you all, my brothers. Time to breathe.

If you like this post, and all of the other nonsense provided here at Q-Talk, please go to GoFundMe and show your support...
