Making a brisket for my sister's birthday. One for today and one for later, will most likely be turning the second one into corned beef for St Patty's.

Simple salt and pepper rub. Trimmed it a little thin in one spot.

It's a pleasant 3 degrees out but we have a slight breeze to drop it below zero. Ugh, this winter has been nasty.

Had to re-shovel the path to the smoker. Ahh, the things we do for BBQ.

I'll post more as the day and the cook progresses.

:pop2:

I had to shovel the path to my smoker today too. The longest three and half feet ever.

That is dedication bordering on insanity.:p It was 82 here yesterday and I had a nice chilaxing Butt cook kickin back with a few Lonestars. Today it is 32 chilled down to 22 and a low of 6 in the forecast for tonight. I feel ya I dodged the bullet.

It turned out great!!! Crutched it at 150 let it go to 205 it and then wrapped in a blanket and put in the cooler (in the house) for about 2 hours. Brisket was tender and very moist.

Thanks for watching and yes Shagdog you will get leftovers.

Brisket, beans with bacon and onion cooked on the Egg while the brisket rested , corn bread and cheesy hash browns. All was delicious.
